Gilles SallesChair

Professor Gilles Salles, the Chair of the Lymphoma Hub, is Chief of the Lymphoma Service at the Department of Medicine, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York, US. Professor Gilles Salles chaired the Hematology Department of the Centre Hospitalier Lyon-Sud, Lyon, FR, from 2011 until 2020, when he took on his current role as Head of Department at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

After training in Centre Hospitalier Lyon-Sud and a post-doctoral fellowship at Harvard Medical School (Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Boston, US), Prof. Salles has been working in the field of lymphoma clinical research with the following specific interests:

  • Identification and validation of new prognostic factors for lymphoma
  • Clinical trials, especially in follicular lymphoma patients (serving, amongst others, as the Principal Investigator of the largest academically randomized clinical trial in patients with follicular lymphoma — PRIMA)
  • Development of novel drugs, and preclinical research

  • Deputy Editor (Lymphoma) of Haematologica (2001–2003)
  • Chair of the Leukemia Selection Committee of the Fondation de France (2005–2008)
