During ICML 2019 in Lugano, Switzerland, the Lymphoma Hub were pleased to speak to Massimo Federico from University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Modena, IT. We asked: is response-oriented maintenance based on MRD and PET feasible in patients with follicular lymphoma (FL)?

Dr. Federico discussed the results of the interim analysis of the FOLL12 prospective randomized phase III trial. Although the study was planned to demonstrate that the response adapted therapy could be of benefit for patients after induction therapy, the team demonstrated that maintenance therapy with rituximab for 2 years was superior to any kind of response-adapted approach.
